![]() | Facts About Madisonville Arts CenterMission Statement To create an ambitious venue that would attract artists, educators, and patrons at an affordable cost to all. MAC Vision To promote and maintain an affordable venue for artists at the local and regional levels; to design, construct, maintain, and operate a multi-use arts center in Madisonville. When was the MAC founded? In 2003, The Community Arts Institute, Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, currently in good standing, and operating as The Madisonville Arts Center was incorporated. The building was acquired in 2004 and renovation began in July 2005. Who are the principles? With over 60 years of combined service in Arts and Entertainment, performing arts specialist's Ed Cohen and Dee Anne Bryll along with Dan Dermody. Why was the MAC created? To provide a unique venue for live theater, music, visual art and educational arts programs. To assist a wide array of smaller theater organizations in presenting their art and working to enrich the financial stability of participating groups, while providing top notch entertainment. Unique Aspects of Project: Theater: 160 seats with state-of-the-art lighting and sound system. No rental fee will be charged. Box office receipts will be split between performing groups and MAC. There will be no minimum ticket sales required. Community Support The University of Cincinnati CCM Prep Department has established a satellite teaching facility at the MAC and Dramakinetics is providing classes as well. Local theater companies have begun performing at the center. What has the MAC accomplished since its founding? Over $650,000 has been generated since July 2004 including:
